Kids Heart Challenge is in full swing!
Baugher Family,
We have just kicked off our annual Kids Heart Challenge through the American Heart Association. If you’re not familiar with this activity, the students raise money for the American Heart Association (AHA) and in return they earn prizes and celebrate with a heart challenge field day. Last year we raised $17,922.35 and our goal this year is $20,000 (if we reach our goal Mr. B will do something crazy like previous years). Kids can raise money online (Heart.org/schools) or by asking friends and family using the envelope paper sent home. Parents are encouraged to take the information to work and ask coworkers. Each student was given an information sheet in class and if additional papers are needed, they can find more in the office.
Prizes: Depending on how much money your child earns they receive prizes from the AHA. Mr. B will be handing out the small characters as they raise the money. The other prizes (jumprope, shirt, ball, XXL Zee and Rescue build kit) will be handed out after we have collected the money and sent it to AHA. It normally takes about a month after the collection of the money. Students can turn their donations into the main office on March 25th. This gives the kids two full weeks and three weekends to collect donations.
Important dates:
Now – February 23rd : Heart challenge is running.
Feb 27th – Absolute last day to turn in money because Mr. B is sending money to Heart Association.
May 8th – Heart Challenge celebration day during specials class. Parent volunteers needed as long as they have clearances and have been board approved.
If you have any questions please feel free to call Mr. B at school or email him at wblack@miltonsd.org. Thanks so much for your support
